Weary Blues: Poetic Texts of the Harlem Renaissance

Composer, vocalist/flutist Trina Coleman has invited opera singer Siv Misund, blues vocalist Camilla Tømta, and pianist Ole Gjøstøl to perform a newly composed work. Together, they will present a genre-diverse composition with settings of selected texts by Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes (1901-1967). The Harlem Renaissance was a thriving intellectual and cultural revival of African Americans in music, literature, and more centered in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City.
